Streichquartette

The recordings of the highly acclaimed Schubert series with the Takács Quartet that HYPERION has already released were praised by the specialist press as almost ideal and excellent, which undoubtedly also applies to the new series with the string quartets D 112 and D 887. If the B-flat major Quartet D 112 is the work of an extraordinarily talented 17-year-old, in which individual features can already be recognized alongside influences from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, then the G major Quartet D 887, composed in the summer of 1826, is one of the undisputed highlights of the entire string quartet repertoire.
