Symphonie Nr.3

Iván Fischer continues his cycle of Beethoven's symphonies with the Boedapest Festivalorkest and releases Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" in combination with the Overture to Coriolan. These showpieces of the symphonic repertoire demonstrate that Beethoven writes not only dramatically but also profoundly lyrically. Fischer took a particularly long time to record the cycle because he initially insisted on performing the music and touring with his excellent orchestra before deciding on a studio recording. The releases so far include Beethoven's Symphonies No. 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and have been highly praised, with The Guardian writing: "The performance of the Seventh is without doubt one of the best ever recorded. Absolutely fascinating."
