The Last Three Sonatas
Imogen Cooper

Imogen Cooper is regarded as one of the best interpreters of the classical and romantic repertoire and is internationally known for her virtuosity. She herself says that she concentrated on Op. 110 for a long time and only later found the courage to open herself to the two sonatas Op. 109 and 111. Ludwig van Beethoven began his last piano sonata in 1821, while he was composing the Mässa solemnis, and it caused astonishment at the time because it consisted of only two parts. The three Beethoven sonatas are accompanied by Bela Bartok's first "Dirge", which actually consists of four pieces. Imogen Cooper, who is held in high regard worldwide, has been honored with the DBE by the British royal family and has received numerous other titles and awards.
