Gustavo Gimeno and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra scale the heights of two of Bartók's musical masterworks: his breathtaking Concerto for Orchestra and his notorious "The Miraculous Mandarin", presented here in its complete version. As a counterpoint, there is the work of Canadian composer Emilie Cecilia LeBel, commissioned by the orchestra - a fascinating meditation on nature, its layers and the collective memory it harbors.
