Violin Concertos

With the Berliner Konzerthausorchester under the direction of Antony Hermus, Ning Feng performs the violin concertos by Johannes Brahms and Carl Goldmark. This combination is particularly fitting, since both works were written in 1877 and the composers were good friends. In Goldmark's lyrical Violin Concerto, Ning Feng plays the original cadenza of five minutes, which is rarely heard in its entirety. Brahms' famous Violin Concerto in D , opus 77, written only a few months after Goldmark, hardly needs introduction. Ning Feng's name has long been associated with this concerto, since he performed it when he won first prize at the Paganini International Competition in 2006, following first prize at the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2005.
