Voices of The Animals

Imagine this: Animal voices become building blocks of sound - sampled, arranged as notes in a score, and entering into dialogue with classical instruments. The result is an extraordinary sonic world in which nature and music meet each other in a fascinating way. Whether it is bat song, translated from the ultrasonic range into our auditory world and merging with the delicate tone of a cello, or the interplay of whale, dolphin and wolf song with a string orchestra - each piece on this album tells of the touching bond between human and animal. In "Fable Ineffable" this relationship can be experienced in an almost spiritual way. "Rest Forest" creates a peaceful soundscape with the voices of elephants, lynxes, bears and jackals. And "The Prey's Prayer" invites you into an imaginary birdhouse, where sampled bird sounds and flutes sound like a meditative reflection on life - from the perspective of birds or people. Perhaps both. Finally, "The bat's song" brings the inaudible to life - a choir of the night, accompanied by the soft voice of the cello. A unique listening experience between nature and composition - animal, unusual and deeply human. Composer and cellist Jean-Paul Dessy recorded this 'Animal Voices Cycle' partly with his Ensemble Musiques Nouvelles, in other works he is the duo and dialogue partner of the animals.
