Winterreise

There is no doubt that Schubert in his groundbreaking song cycle "Winterreise" brought the dark side of the desire for happiness to the fore in obsessions, fears, threats, feelings of lostness, abandonment and exposure in unprecedented doses and urgency. His instrumental singing can be seen as the abolition of classical genre boundaries.
What you can hardly imagine at first quickly develops an addictive character: you understand this auditory image even without singing - a true work of art. A kind of intellectual sadness permeates the richly varied arrangement. Specially composed intermezzos bridge between the songs and at the same time distance themselves from them.
The Voyager Quartet was founded in 2014. The members can look back on a successful musical life in renowned string quartets such as the Cherubini Quartet, Modern String Quartet and world-class orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
