With Chapters - a trilogy of EPs in which she explores deeply personal and thematic trajectories - Shankar takes a next step in her musical universe. The music from this series results in a new orchestra program, arranged and performed by Robert Ames. The program premiered during the BBC Proms with the London Contemporary Orchestra. In this orchestral version, Shankar's characteristic interplay of classical Indian sitar and contemporary sound worlds is further opened up. Intimate compositions grow into layered, cinematic soundscapes. During this concert, a captivating soundscape unfolds that slowly evolves from quiet, almost ambient passages to a more powerful and dynamic sound world - with a space of new hope as its endpoint.
