Bach. AVROTROS VIRTUOOS talents AVROTROS talent programme VIRTUOOS gives young classical music talents a significant boost at the start of their careers. The talents gain media experience on radio and television and build their portfolio with the recording and release of their debut CD. Three young AVROTROS VIRTUOOS top talents (violinist Hawijch Elders, pianist Ivan Petrenko and cellist Stefano Bruno) present themselves at their best under the inspiring accompaniment of the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest. C.Ph.E. Bach, Tsjaikovski, Saint-Saëns and Sjostakovitsj Violinist Hawijch Elders shines in the lyrical splendour of Tsjaikovski's Méditation and Saint-Saëns' extraordinarily virtuosic Introduction et rondo capriccioso. Ivan Petrenko accounts for the fresh liveliness of Sjostakovitsj' Second Piano Concerto and Stefano Bruno takes the spotlight with the virtuosic and spectacular Third Cello Concerto of C.Ph.E. Bach. These latter two pieces contrast their cheerful nature both with an unearthly beautiful slow movement, in which the two soloists let their instruments sing.
