Boekhandel Stad Leest en De Morgen: An evening with Katrin Swartenbroux
Wednesday 16 September 2026, 20:00
Do you also sometimes hit that wall: is this really how to live life? That eternal question is explored by Katrin Swartenbroux with fresh insights in Dat is het ding. 'The right book at the right time', so OK then was not called, the debut of Katrin Swartenbroux. Since then she has continued to write and observe about shame culture and the care gap, but also on her long-awaited new book Dat is het ding. More specifically: an ode to messy life. An evening with Katrin Swartenbroux promises to be an open-hearted gathering full of big and small aha-moments. She will not shy away from any subject from her essay collection: from anti-aging and the efficiency hoax to Christmas trees in the shower. Since October 2022, De Morgen and Boekhandel Stad Leest have been working together. They have organized sold-out evenings with, among others, psychiatrist Dirk De Wachter, philosopher Yuval Noah Harari, artist Rinus Van de Velde, photographers Stephan Vanfleteren and Anton Corbijn, and authors Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer, Tommy Wieringa, Geert Mak, Peter Buwalda, Édouard Louis and Jeroen Olyslaegers.
