200000 Treasures from Golden Prague At the end of the 16th century, a new chapter began in the chronicles of Prague. Under Emperor Rudolf II, the capital became a cosmopolitan hub of artists, musicians, scholars and alchemists. The court attracted not only Italian madrigalists but also composers from the Franco-Flemish tradition, who left their mark on Bohemian musical life. In this panorama of golden Prague, a prominent place is given to Kryštof Harant, whose five-part masses are an impressive synthesis of northern polyphony and southern warmth.
