Club Gewalt – Noise

A music-based performance about living in a time of polycrisis. With humor, noise and a 'catastrophic lecture opera', the Rotterdam collective Club Gewalt explores how we deal with climate crisis, fascism and social upheaval. In a 'catastrophic lecture opera' Club Gewalt asks itself: how do you keep functioning under the constant stream of information that seems to explain the world in perpetual crisis? We live in a time of polycrisis: advancing fascism, the climate crisis, racism and anti-queer violence. Can we learn to accept the collapse of systems without abandoning our protest against injustice? And can we not only name that constant noise, but truly feel it? What begins as a runaway seminar about overcoming an existential crisis, ends in a cathartic immersion in noise. Club Gewalt, the Rotterdam music-based performance collective, tackles the big questions of our time with humor and musicality. Driven by a hatred of injustice and a love of coming together, making, composing and performing, they create their idiosyncratic productions. To be seen in Belgium for the first time.
