Ballett Basel brings six works by Marco Goecke, a choreographer with an immediately recognizable signature: nervous tension, emotional intensity and a poetic movement language. From Barbara to Nina Simone, from Lady Gaga to symphonic music — his dance unfolds in strikingly contrasting sound worlds. The programme is supplemented with Le Spectre de la rose, a revisited classic performed with the house orchestra. An evening in which Goecke's dance enters into dialogue with music that is both as varied as it is compelling.
