Virtuoso pianist Hiromi returns with her energetic jazz trio, together with drummer Simon Phillips and bassist James Genus. An explosive concert in which jazz, fusion, rock and classical influences merge. In the autumn of 2026, Hiromi will tour again with her Trio Project featuring new repertoire and a new recording. She reunites with British drummer Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Judas Priest, Tears for Fears, Toto, The Who). On stage they are accompanied by bassist James Genus (Herbie Hancock, Whitney Houston, Roy Haynes, Chick Corea, Daft Punk, Saturday Night Live). The Japanese pianist and composer Hiromi is known for her virtuosic technique and explosive live energy. For more than twenty years she has been building an oeuvre that moves effortlessly between genres: from stride and post-bop to progressive rock, fusion and classical influences. We welcome Hiromi again this season in the Blauwe zaal, following her energetic and inspiring concert with Sonicwonder in 2024.
