Costume Sale

The theater opens its doors: stage costumes, sumptuous fabrics and rare pieces, each containing a fragment of a production. For one weekend the workshops showcase the costumes that stood on stage: glittering kimonos, elegantly dressed jackets, rich fabrics and exceptional pieces. Since the seventies, the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège has had its own production workshops, located in Ans since 2002. Seventeen craftsmen work there daily on costumes, footwear, hats and sets — per production they make one hundred to three hundred costumes, together accounting for almost fifteen thousand pieces in the depot. Santa Claus stops by for a photo with the youngest visitors. Free admission, no registration required. Card payment only, no cash. Bring your own bag.
