But it is equally an untamed drive to see things for what they are. In Tender Rage - an artistic intervention in two acts - Luanda Casella explores this ambiguous emotion together with drummer Eric Thielemans. The Brazilian theatre maker, resident artist at deSingel, dissects in her work how language and stories shape our reality. After years of research into 'unreliable narrators', she now focuses on the question of truth. For this, Casella reaches for memes - the sayings of the 21st century. In that tension between folk wisdom and virality, Tender Rage slows down that stream and gives words weight again. A diptych unfolds: proverbs for a strange world, a text installation, and unplugged fearless speech, a performance on the Kunstenplein in which speaking itself becomes an act of risk.
