Mahler Chamber Orchestra and violist Alina Ibragimova celebrate 200 years of Beethoven with the Violin Concerto, the Romances and the playful Eighth Symphony. In 2027 it will be two hundred years since Beethoven died. In this special jubilee year, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra together with top violinist Alina Ibragimova presents a programme that revolves around musical depth, human lyricism and subtle humour. The heart of the concert is Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D, a grand musical conversation in which soloist and orchestra stand on equal footing. With her poetic and introspective playing style, Ibragimova gives meaning to every detail. This pure eloquence flows seamlessly into the two Romances, compact masterpieces in which Beethoven reveals his most direct and warm side.
