Nemø ensemble – Minimal Mayhem

Nemø Ensemble and Aart Strootman explore the world of minimal music with works by, among others, Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Julius Eastman, Moondog, Ann Southam and others. A concert that brings together minimalist pioneers and lesser-known voices. The Nemø Ensemble connects the existing repertoire with new works by young artists who explore the boundaries between genres and disciplines. For Nemø, art means bringing people together outside the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Each performance is conceived as an 'intensified context' in which the audience can fully immerse itself in the moment of the now. Together with Aart Strootman, the ensemble explores the world of minimal music and its most important pioneers, Steve Reich and Philip Glass. Both are celebrating an important anniversary in season 26-27 - a welcome opportunity to also highlight other, sometimes lesser-known voices within minimalism. The programme features works by Steve Reich and Philip Glass as well as works by Julius Eastman, Moondog, Terry Riley, La Monte Young and Yoko Ono.
