Pussy Riot – RIOT DAYS

Pussy Riot presents RIOT DAYS, an explosive mix of live music, theater and multimedia based on the book by Maria Alyokhina. The performance reflects on political persecution, the war in Ukraine and contemporary protest. Since 2017, Pussy Riot - the Russian feminist protest collective - has been presenting RIOT DAYS, a performance at the intersection of live music, theater and multimedia. The show is based on the book Riot Days by Maria 'Masha' Alyokhina, which describes the protest actions, trials and prison sentences of the collective. RIOT DAYS continues to evolve and incorporates current reflections on political persecution and events such as the Russian war against Ukraine. The performance has been staged worldwide over 400 times - in virtually all European countries, as well as in North and South America, Australia and New Zealand. Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 150 performances of the latest version have taken place. Through RIOT DAYS and associated exhibitions, Pussy Riot has raised over €200,000 for the children's hospital Okhmatdyt in Kyiv and to support political prisoners in Russia. They return this year with an impressive new show and a new book: Political Girl, which addresses, among other things, the death of Aleksej Navalny and LGBTQ+ protests. RIOT DAYS is more than a performance: it is an ongoing artistic act of resistance against oppression and war.
