Blockbuster Der Komponist und Dirigent John Williams gewann in seiner reichen Karriere zahlreiche Grammys und eine Handvoll Oscars für seine Beiträge zu unzähligen Blockbustern. Die Reihe der Filme, für die er Soundtracks schrieb, ist endlos lang: Home Alone, Jaws, E.T., Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Schindler's List, die Harry-Potter-Reihe… Mit seiner Musik hat er in großem Maße zum Erfolg von Filmmusik in den Konzertsälen weltweit beigetragen. Heroisch John Williams ist inzwischen über neunzig Jahre alt, komponiert aber immer noch und nicht nur Filmmusik. Für die Olympischen Spiele von 1984 schrieb er Olympic Fanfare, die er selbst mit seinem geliebten Boston Pops Orchestra bei der Uraufführung aufführte. Die Fortsetzung hiervon, Call of the Champions, komponierte er für die Olympischen Winterspiele von 2002. Die robusten Klänge, die furchtlosen Sporthelden gewidmet, machen diese Hommage an den Filmkomponisten vollständig.
